Well after 8ish months of not having a car and many posts about various options, I decided to just get a cheap cash Craigslist car and try to go at least a year without a car payment. Sadly I’ve ignored all your wonderful ideas and bought something else. Pics to come tomorrow hopefully, feel free to guess what it is if you want an extra OppoPoint. It was listed for $1300 and with I combination of mine and the sellers terrible negotiating I paid $1050, which is good because tax/title/plates are a lot more expensive than I remember after financing my last 3 cars and it’s been about 6 years since I bought a car in this state for cash. I'm pretty excited though, write up to come!

For hints, its very much in a s imilar vein to most of my previous cars with the exception of being my very first autotragic. Sad! I wish it was a stick but I really couldn't pass it up and needed something fast. Previous cars include a festiva, Mazdas 2, 3, and mx5(x2), a crx, Geo prism hatch, Saturn sw1 and a Saab 9000.

I hate myself but not that much. And I really hate working on cars these days lol, so reliability was a big factor, wrenching as a pro really ruined it for me.

Closer! I've actually always really wanted one of those I just love the styling, especially the rear. Doesn't even need to be a GTX or anything. If I can ever afford to import a jdm car this is pretty high on my list.

1993 Ford escort lx (mine’ s silver) with the base 1.9l making a whopping 88hp fed through a state of the art 4 speed autotragic. But I’ll be putting less than 500 miles/month on it and my strategy with cheap cars is to shop for a good seller not a good car, guy was super honest and did a lot of work to it, even had his home address in the listing. So it's not really what I wanted, but it is what I needed and I do like it so far, it's pretty rad and it just might end up being my Jolene.
